About me

My background is in commerce and IT where I worked for over 20 years as a Manager and Systems Engineer before deciding upon a change of career.I have volunteered at numerous charities such as MIND where i was a therapist focused on IAPT and short term counselling. I also volunteered at the Maytree which is a a respite centre for those feeling suicidal. I have worked at the Caravan in Piccadilly where i saw clients and provided long term therapy on a weekly basis.

I like to believe that I have a broad understanding of human issues having met and worked with many different personalities over the years, both in my professional life prior to psychotherapy and whilst working as a therapist. Working with people from different parts of the world and ethnicities has helped me to expand my own understanding of the challenges people face during their day to day lives.

I arrived at Psychotherapy following my experience of being a client where I was able to see first hand the positive impact  vulnerability and self exploration had upon my own healing, personal development and creative process. It is this belief in the power of therapy that has spurred my own exploration in helping others to benefit from it in the way that I once did. I am in regular supervision and continue to attend courses on the next breakthrough in Psychotherapy and understanding of human nature and behaviour. I have a particular interest in triggers and attachment theory on unconscious behaviours.

In my personal life I enjoy meditation and walks in nature along with an interest in Zen Buddhism. I also enjoy writing poetry and focus on themes around emotions and feelings as a way of exploring our essence. I say a little bit more on my short introductory video about how I work.
